LONG-term observations
Alongside textile works and visual compositions, I develop a number of
long-term observational projects centred around memory, rhythm, local identity and everyday life.
These projects often evolve slowly over months or years through repetition, documentation, conversation and visual research.
They explore how places, people and routines shape cultural memory over time.

12 Months, 12 Craftsmen — Carcaixent
This ongoing publication documents small independent shops and
traditional craftsmen in Carcaixent — from shoemakers to Falla sculpture makers.
Over the course of one year, I follow twelve local makers and shopkeepers through monthly conversations and observations, documenting the rhythm of their work, their changing environments
and the quiet persistence of craftsmanship within contemporary life.
The project explores local identity, continuity, manual knowledge and
the social fabric of the village through image, dialogue and time.
THE MOBILE SHARPENER — AFILADOR AMBULANTE
Every month, an itinerant knife sharpener makes his way from Algemesí
to Carcaixent on his scooter,
carrying with him a craft that has become increasingly rare
He moves from place to place, offering to restore the edge of knives and scissors
that have lost their sharpness through everyday use. His visits are brief,
practical and almost easy to overlook — yet they form part of a rhythm
that has existed long before everything became disposable.
When I met him, he stopped outside my house and sharpened several of my knives
and a pair of scissors as a test. The photographs were made during this small encounter:
a moment of work taking place directly in the street, between houses,
cars and the ordinary movement of the neighbourhood.
He will return to Carcaixent at the end of September.
